Our method, improve your well-being

Excerpt from an interview with Nadine Zenthner published in PassionSanté

To cope with the physical and mental stress we are increasingly suffering from, I was looking for an innovative solution that fits our lifestyle perfectly.
I found it by just choosing from what I could find. I have a passion for Eastern culture.
For many years, I have been gaining experience and taking all kinds of courses in this field. Then I pass on everything I learn.

I was interested in Tao Yin because of the principles of positive thinking it develops: for example, what could be better than feeling valued at a time when the world of work is changing in a sickening way?
Certain breathing techniques I borrowed from Tai Chi. Breathing well is fundamental.
Moreover, I also use various yoga postures, which are ideal for relaxing the body. I am the only one in Belgium who does this.
Aiki Santé is even a registered trademark.

The method : improve your well-being

We neglect ourselves.
There are some very common movements we no longer do, even though they are so useful.
For example, yawning. In public, that is not appropriate. So we stop yawning. But a good, deep, repeated yawn cleanses and relieves the channels in the face.
Massaging your hands also stimulates circulation. Stretching wakes up the muscles. What’s so complicated about that? Nothing at all!
But you never think about it. I explain all this during my classes. “I also emphasize breathing. When you exert yourself, you have to exhale.
If I want to lift something heavy, I won’t inhale.
I will exhale and in this way use all the energy I need without making too violent a movement that could affect another part of my body, such as my back.
The idea is to create automatisms that you repeat daily.

I try to satisfy as many people as possible. And above all, not to lose anyone along the way.
Except, of course, those who give up because they are no longer in tune with my teaching. In those circumstances, there’s really no point in continuing.

How is Aiki Santé© different from Tai-Chi or Yoga?

Look at Tai Chi.
It demands so much regularity from its practitioners that anyone who misses a class is completely lost when he returns.
That is not the case with me. Those who are away for one or more weeks get back on track as soon as they return. Without the unpleasant feeling that they have been left behind by the others.
Therein lies another appeal of Aïki Santé.
It is not about a formal style. My courses are very varied.
I help people complaining about their backs as well as those suffering from anxiety: “Anyone who is anxious and turns to yoga will not be satisfied.
He or his will never get rid of his stress.
Because this discipline does not lend itself to it.
It is calming. It leads to relaxation.
It affects the deep muscles of the body. It has very many benefits.
But it doesn’t have that liberating psychic effect.
When I start an Aiki Santé session, I can sense nervousness in those present.
There is electricity in the air, as they say.
Under such conditions, of course, it is impossible to teach. I then ask everyone to get on their crouches on the tatami and while shouting, pound their fists at him.
It takes a minute. That’s enough. Everyone has discharged the aggression they had built up during the day and we can start being at peace with ourselves.
The work we do, whatever it is, will be all the better for it. It is never too early to start.”

It is a revelation to see children sitting in armchairs in front of family television.
Isn’t it time we taught them to find the right position for their backs?
