Marco Zenthner

Curriculum

  • Started Aikido in September 1973
  • Shodan in March 1977 in Berchem with Master Tamura and his assistant, Master Susuki
  • Nidan with Master Sugano in February 1980 in Pépinster
  • Sandan with Master Sugano in 1983 (first examination of this grade in Belgium)
  • Yondan in 1988 with Master Tamura of his own decision
  • Godan national en janvier 1995 par Dany Leclerre
  • When I presented myself to Master Sugano in 1982 for the grade of Sandan, he told me that I was too young, so I waited one year before presenting myself, so for the following grades I waited for him to tell me when it was the right time and so I waited from 1983 to 1995 for his goodwill. Then I left the French speaking aikido association to follow Alain Peyrache, founder of the EPA, he promoted me to the rank of Rokudan in July 1997.
  • Being often in disagreement with the different leaders of the federation, I decided to become independent and I announced to my students that there was no more grade passing in my dojo.
